I have the site
http://tokyoprogressive.org

I was getting spam from an email form I had forgotten about:

http://tokyoprogressive.org/index/japanese/index.html

and

http://tokyoprogressive.org/index/english

In fact, using FTP I could not find such a directory as “index”

Then I recalled I had taken an existing forum page (probably created by the forum module) and somewhere modified it to add my form, actually replacing the forum address with the contact form.

But I could not find out how to change that from within EE, so I went into ftp again and this time DID see
“index” although it did not look like a real directory.

Against my better judgment, I deleted it.

Now of course it looks like I have lost my site.

EE still comes up:

http://tokyoprogressive.org/system

but nothing I do adds stuff or makes the site itself reappear.

I asked my provider if he can restore from a backup.
Am waiting on it now.

If the answer is no, is all lost?

(I think they do nighly backups, though I have never used the backup
function of their siteworx program because I thoughyt they were doing it)

Thanks

paul
