I’m working on setting up pmachine for a law firm’s articles and summaries. It’s been going along pretty smoothly but some new information has stopped me dead in my tracks.
The firm now tells me they have upwards of 3500 articles/summaries and, of course, this number can only get bigger.
1) Is pmachine’s search capable of moving through this large a database with reasonable speed? Am I looking at the wrong product?
2) Where can I find instructions on importing the database directly into pmachine (and can the entries include bold and italic)?
3) They want to be able to redirect current articles that are presently linked from other sites. The thought of entering 3500 titles and redirects in htaccess is mind-boggling. Is this the way it has to be done? and
4) How do we even know the new php url for each article. This sounds like a dumb questions to me. I must be missing the obvious.
Thanks for all help. I’ve been 2 months getting this started and if it makes more sense to stop now and turn it over to a programmer, I will.
