Hello all.

I am attempting to set up RSS syndication in my fresh install of the latest version of pMachine pro. The software was installed and configured this week on Windows Server 2003. All of the normal functions work just fine, I am just having trouble with the RSS feed.

I have little to no experience with RSS, so I would appreciate it if someone with some know-how could walk me through the steps to setting up a working feed, so maybe I can mimic it and solve the elusive problem.

The problem is that pMachine is not writing to my xml file. I tried using the included index.xml file, and also created a blank xml file, and an xml file with some basic code. While you cannot chmod to files in Windows Server, I have the permissions allocated to the xml files, and the file manager tells me that the file is writable, with chmod 666.

In RSS Factory, I have all of the settings correct to my knowledge, using guidance from the RSS Factory manual. The feed is enabled, the correct weblog selected, etc. I don’t image that I have problems with my file paths, relative or otherwise, but I will not rule out the possibility. This is the first time I’ve set something like this up on Windows Server, so I’m bound to have some issues.

If you can offer me any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m sure I’m leaving many important facts out of this post, but I’m really just not familiar with RSS and don’t know much of where to begin.

Turns out it was a user security context issue on our server. Not nearly a pMachine problem. Thanks anyways, glad its fixed though.
