Changing font in weblog_title_list

I want to change the font style to Arial and size to 1 for the titles that appear in the weblog_title_list tag.

I keep getting a syntax error when I modify the archives.fns.php file.

How would I do this?

Have you tried using CSS?

Boyink, my request was quite clear. Please refrain from responding to this post with more questions.
If you know how to do what I’m asking then give details. Don’t use this as an opportunity to use your sig file.
I don’t mean to be abrupt but your post has zero value.

Uh, sorry if it came off as anything but the spirit in which it was offered - I simply wondered if you were hacking the source code for the purpose of styling because a more logical CSS-based approach had failed.  I didn’t want to suggest something you had already tried.

Darrell, Boyink has done a number of pMachine and EE sites, as have I.

He’re right, you don’t need to modify the file to achive the results you want. You can use CSS to do what you want.

There’s an example you can follow:

<style>
.orange a:link { color:  orange; font-weight: bold;}
.orange a:visited { color:  orange; font-weight: bold;}
.orange a:active { color:  orange; font-weight: bold;}
.orange a:hover { color:  #cccccc; font-weight: bold;}

</style>

Now I’m only styling the colors and the font-weight here, but you can ammend it to change it to what you want.

<?php $wtl['show_date'] = "yes";
$wtl['date_fmt'] = "M d, Y";
$wtl['limit'] = "10";
$wtl['offset'] = "0";
$wtl['orderby'] = "alpha";
$wtl['weblog'] = "weblog";

?>

  Title
List<br />
  <
div class="orange">
<?php weblog_title_list($wtl); ?>
</div>

Test URL

Does this make more sense?

First of all I want to apologize to Boyink for my snippy response.

I’ve hacked pmachine before and I thought doing it that way would be easier.

I don’t know much about css and did not want to waste anyone’s time trying to use this
forum to teach me. I wanted to avoid a Q&A type thread with 5 or more replies.

I’ve applied your code suggestion Sue with success. I’ll modify it to my needs right away.
I appreciate your time, knowledge, and help.

Darrell

P.S. Thank you for your efforts as well Michael.

No worries Darrell.

While it’s true that I do web/EE development for a living, I’ve learned a ton from the folks in these forums - Sue included - and like to return the favor when I can.

I’ve hacked pMachine so much it no longer was recognizable. smile But now that I’ve switched to EE for 95% of the sites I do, I’m pretty rusty.

I don’t know much about css and did not want to waste anyone’s time trying to use this
forum to teach me. I wanted to avoid a Q&A type thread with 5 or more replies.

It’s not a waste of time teaching you something. Because then you’ll be able to help someone else. There are a number of people still using pMachine, but not many of us who can answer questions about it.

I’ve applied your code suggestion Sue with success. I’ll modify it to my needs right away.

Great! Glad it made sense to you. I’d forgotten about how to use that part of pMachine. So I (re)learned something too.
