A user just brought this to my attention. When using my Forum, with the above combination, you can’t select text in a previous post correctly (to copy and paste). Clicking the mouse doesn’t give you a cursor but selects all the text in all the posts above the cursor. I thought maybe this was due to IE/Windows non-standard Javascript but doing the same works correctly in the pMachine Forum.

“Clicking the mouse doesn’t give you a cursor but selects all the text in all the posts above the cursor.”

Correction. That should read: Clicking the mouse and trying to select text by dragging the cursor doesn’t work correctly but selects all the text in all the posts above the cursor. Double-clicking on a word, triple-clicking on a paragraph, etc. does work.

In your forum pages, try adding this code directly above the “DOCTYPE”:

<?php echo "<" . "?" . "xml"; ?> version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"<?php echo "?" .">"; ?>

What that should do is result in this line appearing in your file:

<?xml version=“1.0” encoding=“iso-8859-1”?>

I think that’s a fix for IE’s poor handling of positioned elements.
