Hi,

Today, as usual, I went (through my browser) to the pm directory, and on the login screen there was an error.
/language/french_france/main.php was missing.
The trouble is that pM always worked with a folder named french/
Anyway I renamed the folder into french_france/ and it worked.
The next trouble is that in config.php it’s written $language = “english”;
And since I use session ID rather than cookies, I’m not (and never have been) able to choose my preferred language (on the login screen) (is that normal ?).
Moreover, now changing the $language = “”; value is ineffective.

The fact is that I do not remember that I modified something that could end with this, so how is it possible ?

Okay in fact there is a language’s cookie.
I (re)discovered it because there was a warning on the blog through my 2nd browser which language’s cookie value was “french”.
So as I renamed the folder the files couldn’t be reached.

The question is, where did that “french_france” value came from ?
Till now there only was “english” and “french”.

A change like that won’t happen on its own.  Have you updated any files recently or made any configuration changes?

That’s what I thought, well I recently updated to build 028 and I hacked weblog.fns.php, as mentioned on the knowledge blog, to get a french date header.
As I remember, it worked fine after that.

Well, there were no language related changes in pM Pro for quite some time.  Do you perhaps have another program running on that domain that has foreign languages available?  I wonder if it is setting a cookie with the same name as the pMachine Pro language cookie.

I did a search on my HDD and found a file named french_france.php in geeklog, which is also installed on my server.
Every software should have their cookies starting with their own name, I wonder.

The pMachine Pro language cookie is set with the name pmlanguage, and when it is found then it is changed to the variable $language.  I am guess it is when it is *not* found that the Geeklook language cookie is interfering (all COOKIES are turned into variables automatically).  Send me an email and I will send you a new file to use, which hopefully will fix the problem.
