Invalid Captcha Value

Hi all ...

Hopefully, this will be something Paul or Chris will know rightoff.

a) I updated from 2.3 to 2.4.  The update went flawlessly {as far as I can tell of course}

b) I have weblog prefs set up to allow users to Post Comments without registering.

c) In my prefs in Admin CP, I believe I have the correct relative path to the captcha folder, inside the images folder in root.

—However, when I try to post a comment, I’m getting a members.php page, telling me Invalid Captcha Value BACK.

Can anyone tell me what could be causing this?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Your comment form does display the captcha image and form field, though?

Can you share a link?

I’m having virtually the identical problem. Has anyone come up with a fix for this? Here’s my setup:

- version 2.4
- captcha’s are setup properly as they work in all other instances such as registration, posting without preview, comments, etc.
- In this instance the captcha image is loading and displaying just fine.
- I have a multi-user form accepting entries from anyone without registration

My problem is this: If i try to preview a post, the preview looks fine but when I post the preview I get one of two errors:

Invalid Captcha Value
Your entry could not be posted at this time.

The latter happens if I try to use the Captcha value from the original entry form where the post was actually written, not the form showing after Preview was clicked, got that??? wink

Thanks

I’m back. If I say “no” to the Deny Duplicate Data option then things start to work again. Why would this be? I’m not submitting duplicate submissions?

If I did want to keep this option (Deny Duplicate Data) how would I make it work?

Thanks.

Do you have all the v2.4 Bug Fixes applied?  I believe one of them dealt with the “Deny Duplicate Data” setting.

The “pMachine Bug Fixes” forum.  Whenever a bug fix release is made it is posted there, along with instructions.
