I know this is an EE problem, but on page 3 of the installation of the trial version, when it says to pick a default template, the drop down menu is blank, therefore I can’t continue with the installation. I followed the instructions and can’t figure out what’s wrong.

(FYI: you posted this in the pMachine forums not the EE ones.)

Have you confirmed that you have Zend Optimizer 2.5 or newer installed on your server?

Are you sure that you uploaded the system/themes/ directory and it’s contents in ASCII format and that the contents are “readable” (permissions of 644 or 755 should work)?

I did a 1.2.1 Trial installation yesterday on the pM Hosting servers without a problem.

I re downloaded it and and used Fetch instead of the GoLive FTP program and double checked to make sure the right files were uploaded in ASCII and Binary and the permissions were set right and ran the install file and the same thing. Bottom of page 3 where you select your template the dropdown menu is locked or there is nothing there. I even installed EE on a different server hosted by someone else and the same thing. So I looked at the source of that page and where the drop down menu should be I found this code : <b>Fatal error</b>:  Decompression error, probably the file is corrupt in <b>/home/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx/EEfolder/system/core/core.functions.php</b> on line <b>0</b><br />
