I’ve installed EE before, sucessfully. But I never took the time to figure it out. I just installed 1.2 and got the congratulatory message. However, when I try to log into the control panel ( system/index.php ), I get stuck in a redirect loop. I can see my EE site; just can’t access the EE panel to do anything to it.

I searched the forum but couldn’t find an answer to this problem. I’m thinking this has happened to someone before and it’s just an oversight on my part?

First, you posted this to a pMachine forum, not an EE one.

Second, take a look at this entry in the Knowledge-Blog.

Spoke to soon. Changing the system/config.php file didn’t work or change my results. i changed the file and emptied my browser’s cache. I’m still trapped in a redirect loop when trying to login system/index.php .

Go back into your config.php file again, find the “debug” setting and make sure it’s set to “2”.  That way you’ll be sure to see any PHP error messages that get output.

You should also ensure that your browser can accept the cookie that the CP tries to set upon login.  Further, make sure you don’t have any programs on your computer (such as a Firewall) that are blocking “referrer information” from being sent to the site.
