I upgraded to 2.3 a pmachine site that has been working fine for months. Did everything right as far as I can tell.

Now I cannot log in with what i thought was correct user name & password. When I ask for my password to be forwarded to me I get this error…

A problem was encountered while performing this action.

Mmm nice :(

Any help gratefully received.

So, exactly what happens when you try to log in with the user account?  Are you still on the same server?  Is it Windows-based?

When you upgraded, did you replace the pm/index.php and pm/config.php files and also make sure to transfer over your settings for the config file?

In the 2.3 pM Pro config.php file there are also settings regarding which email protocol to use when sending emails.  You need to make sure you have yours set to something you can use.

I just changed the config.pm per your suggestion to SMTP and now I do get a change password email sent. but when I put in that password it still doesn’t let me in. Just cycles back to the password entry dialog with no error or anything…

thanks for trying to help me smile

FYI I didn;t change anything on the server other than the version of pmachine. I followed the upgrade instructions changing config.php replacing index.php etc

Are you on a Windows-based server?  Take a look at this Knowledge-Blog entry:
