wrong paths set to control panel images

My install of pMachine seemed to go fine but the paths to the control panel image sources are incorrect.

I renamed the script directory from “pm” to “news” and edited the pm_inc.php files.
My homepage URL is:
http://www.bergmanmediaservice.com/springhill/weblog.php
The Absolute path to main script directory is:
http://www.bergmanmediaservice.com/springhill/news/

The source code of the control panel has image links that look like this:
background=”../../../../docs/pMachinePro2.3/news/cp/images/navtop.jpg”

Where do I configure the control panel image paths?

Do you have this as a setting somewhere in your pM Control Panel:

../../../../docs/pMachinePro2.3/news/cp/

By default, the image links in the Control Panel are of the form:

background="images/navtop.jpg"

Thanks for your response and for the correct path.  The paths in the control panel general preferences look correct ( I replaced the “pm” directory with “news”):
http://www.bergmanmediaservice.com/springhill/news/
http://www.bergmanmediaservice.com/springhill/news/members/
http://www.bergmanmediaservice.com/springhill/mailinglists/
/springhill

I don’t see a path to the images directory in the control panel. I’m hoping that I can search thru the script files for the path ../../../../docs/pMachinePro2.3/news/cp/ and replace those instances with images/.

Any further thoughts on how the path got screwed up during install would be appreciated as I will be installing more pmachines for other clients. Thanks!

The pMachine backend scripts use a relative path embedded in the scripts.  This path is absolutely correct by default.  In fact, you can’t alter it.

Looking at your source, however, indicates totally different paths than what we provide by default.  Did you use a program like Dreamweaver to upload your files?  If so, it’s altering the path.

Ah, very good point.  I’d forgotten that sometimes Dreamweaver (and maybe others like GoLive) will dynamically alter things when they upload.

You’ll be best off using a stand-alone FTP client to upload your installation files.

Unless you moved your members directory, then it should not be under your “news” directory.  By default it should be:

http://www.bergmanmediaservice.com/springhill/members/

That’s it! I imported the pMachinePro files into my local GoLive site and ftp’d them to the server using GoLive. Well that’s a lesson well learned after 3 install attempts!

Thanks guys!

My upgrade to 1.1 seems successful with the exception of the cp_images.  I FTP’d them through a standard FTP application, so I don’t have the above problem.

My browser is trying to find the images at the following location:

http://www.mywebsite.comimages/cp_images/up.gif

note:  there is no /system/ in the path. . . is there a setting that I need to change somewhere?

Sorry—posted to the wrong forum.  Anyways, I found my own answer. . . If anyone else get stuck. . . go to

Admin-Control Panel Settings-

change the URL to Control Panel Image Directory
