i have a copy of pmachine free set up but there deosnt seem to be a place for new members to register even though i have set it up as a collective blog, is there a switch i have missed that allows people to register?

The default installation of pM Free includes links to Register or Login toward the top of the left column.  If you’ve customized your site you probably deleted that.  Try looking at the Member Nav -Bar pM Tag.
