Site integration?

This looks interesting, but I don’t use blogs so I’m totally lost on what its capable of.
I’m looking at the possibility of site integration if it makes any sense. For what I have is custom database entries by logged in members, with tables and categories with comments and rating system for each entry. We integrated forum login otherwise there is no real integration with the main database. The main database cannot be altered and will grow independent of other structures.

What I would like to do is, have one login, comments, rating, forum, calendar with minor changes in php without disturbing the database and templating system, user efficient and low skin weight. The site is xhtml css php/perl compliant. It is non-profit, expense is a concern.

I need someone experienced to tell me how integration will work and what problem solving issues may arise. (The blogging instructions don’t make any sense to me, but I see the possibilities.)

Thank you

Sorry, I don’t understand exactly what it is you’re asking/looking for.  Do you want to use pMachine to replace something existing on your site?  Do you want to use pMachine in addition to your existing things?  Something else?

Thanks for responding,

A bit of both, I’m not a developer, so I’ll try to explain.

The main site we don’t want to change is our database mysql/php/perl/html editor/xhtml/css. Templating system?

We added comments and ratings to the main database records.
A forum, calendar and sdk integrated site login added to database.

We think of the database as the main site, the rest is community involvement that determines what we do with the database.

Community side needs better integration *login, forum, calendar, xml, rss, *comments, *rating.

main database -out- title/url (comment, rated)
main database -in- login (user/email)

We were going to get the database records for xml and ssi, now I’m thinking if we could integrate the comments returning title/url then we would end up with one xml, ssi system.
Now I’m thinking using comments we could add links as a forum topic.

I only use one css template.

This is difficult to explain and dinners ready…
