My son is running pMachine Pro and has, as almost anybode else, been attacked by comment spammers.
Nothing new.
Weird thing is, the moment he posts a new entry, the first thing to appear in the comments is spam with a different time stamp.
E.g.: he posts an entry on january 9th 2005, and the comment spam is dated december 27th 2004.
I’m a bit stumped with this one.
Anyone any ideas where to look? 

When the original spammer attacked, they were just doing brute-force spamming and just going through all the Entry IDs, including IDs that hadn’t actually been assigned for entries yet.  So, when a new entry is made there is already an existing comment associated with the entry.

pM 2.4 should provide you tools to help remove all that spam as well as to help prevent it in the future.  No specific ETA, but I would expect it to be released pretty soon.

But, in the mean time, what can I do about it?
Can I disconnect the new entry and the spamcomment “thingy”?

I don’t know what you mean when you ask about “disconnecting” things.

pM 2.4 will, I think, take care of this for you and should be released very soon.  As far as what you can do in the meantime, though… first off, you can just manually delete any spam comment that appears when you create a new entry.

If you’re adventurous and know what you’re doing you could try deleting the “future” comments directly from the database.  I wouldn’t recommend that unless you do know what you’re doing, though.
