Limit the number of Archives per page

I remember seeing somewhere that I could set a limit as to the amount of archives per page, when displaying per month from the drop down menu created.  Can you tell me where I can set a limit?  The page is too long and my background image is too short.

Thanks, Pat

I think you ought to be able to use the “weblog_entries_limit” pM Tag on the page on which the entries are displayed.

Hi, I tried replacing this tag
<?php archive_entries($id,“weblog”); ?>

with this tag:
<?php weblog_entries_limit($id,“weblog”,5); ?>

but it didn’t do anything.  Then I tried changing it to:
<?php archive_entries_limit($id,“weblog”,5); ?>

and got errors.  I added the change to the archives.php page.  Any other suggestion?

Thanks, Pat smile

Well, the monthly archive view is really designed to do just that: display the archive (i.e. all the entries) from that selected month.  If the “weblog_entries_limit” tag doesn’t work then you would have to hack the backend to limit the number of items shown in a monthly archive.

Ok, then since I don’t know how to hack the back end - I’ll just change my page so that there isn’t a background image.  I just thought it might be possible to limit the page view just like the regular weblog display.  There it can be set to a certain number per page view and then I like the little next hyperlink - that’s really what I was hoping for.

Thanks for your help.
