im a bit confused here, some clarification would be great.

user name. i set one up when i created mysql database via my hosting package.
created a username upon installation of pm as well.
which do i enter in the config file?
my directory, according to my hosting provider, is jarch_gravy. is this what i enter into the config file?

which name do i enter in the login page for the control panel?
why does it not recognize my email address?

First, there are two types of “usernames” you’re talking about here:

1. The database itself requires a username and password in order to access it.  It sounds like you set this one up though your hosting account.

2. You place that username and password (along with the other database information) inside your config.php file.  That will allow pMachine to connect with the database.

3. As you follow the installation instructions, one of them has you run the “install.php” file.

4. As you run through the “install.php”, you set up an admin user account for pMachine.  That’s what you later use to log into the pMachine Control Panel (though you can, of course, also create other users once you’re installed).

Are you positive you went through the entire installation procedure, including running the install script?

username, password, and email was entered.
i got all the way to the end of installation and deleted the install file.
the installer gave me the link to the control panel
i’ve entered all emails that could be used to retrieve user info, to no avail.
can’t seem to figure out xml parsing error either, using safari.

If you have something like phpMyAdmin available, go look at the tables in your database.  Specifically, look at your “pm_members” table and see if your admin member got added.

Also, if you’re on a Windows-based server, check this entry in the Knowledge-Blog.
