I think that you can do this with pMachine Pro (not Free) and FeedBurner’s SmartCast service. Use the RSS Factory to create an RSS 2.0 feed, and have FeedBurner process that feed with SmartCast turned on. Put the link to your enclosure file toward the beginning of the article (in the first few lines), and away you go. I think. I haven’t actually tried it.

Isn’t there a way to do this with pMachine Pro without using a third party service?

If you want to add an “<enclosure>” element to your feeds, you would have to hack the backend of pMachine Pro to accomplish it.  The script that generates the feeds is ‘pm/cp/rss.cp.php’.

i found this script: dircaster and I am using it for podcast I am implementing on a site…this link is to someone who has added to the script: here

“dirCaster v0.1: Podcasting php script

dirCaster v0.1 is a php script that allows one to very easily start Podcasting mp3 files from their web host. This allows original content creators to easily provide a feed for iPodder, jPodder, etc.

Drop the dircaster.php script into a directory and it will generate an RSS feed suitable for iPodder, etc based off the MP3 files in that directory. To ‘cast a new file, simply upload it to the directory containing the script.”

This is a good solution to those of you who do not want or know how to hack pmachine and do not want to switch to some other CMS just to have software that creates an RSS enclosure.
