Anyone still using this in pM Pro?

tried to sey mine up but getting the following error when trying to send an article:

pMachine Email Server
Connected to:  Hello there.

Valid Username
Valid Password

logged in.

1: POST: Testing Mail Upload
2: POST: Testing Mail Upload

The messages are valid and ready to be posted

ERROR: Unable to authenticate user in message 1

ERROR: Unable to authenticate user in message 2

Server connection has been closed

End of script

Anyone give any help on this?  If the login etc. is OK, why can’t it authenticate the user??

I take it that no-one uses this feature?

The first username/password that it mentions is the email account username/password.  You also need to include your pMachine Pro account username/password inside the email you send as indicated in the “instructions.txt” file for the add-on.  You need to place your pM Pro username and password on the very first line of the email, separated by a comma.  So, if your username is “bob” and the password is “secret” then the very first line of the email body should be:

You say separated by a comma but in the code you’ve used a colon.  Which is correct?  Here’s what I’m putting in the body of the e-mail:

Is the user you’re specifying at least an Admin Level 1 member?  Examining the code, the reasons you can get the message you quoted:

1. The username or password aren’t specified
2. There are no matches for the specified username/password
3. The specified user is not at least an Admin Level 1 member (member level 7 or higher)

1. I removed the correct username and password from the above post for obvious reasons - they are correct as I’ve double checked them against what I type to log in.  They are also on the first line - the gap in what I put above was purely to separate the main section from the subject field in my post.

I am using Pmachine 2.3 just installed by Fantastico at my web site and am getting this same error message:
ERROR: Unable to authenticate user in message

when the login and password are correctly entered on the first line of my email.

I gather this feature does not work???

Is anyone using this feature?

tombraider - the version of pMachine installed by Fantastico is very old and no longer updated.

The most recent version of pMachinePro is 2.4.1.

However, Id’ recommend getting EECore instead. EECore is a product that is under active development.

I upgraded to 2.4 but still get the following message when trying to post by email:

So, basically, I upgraded for nothing and this email feature DOES NOT WORK in PMachine 2.3 OR 2.4?

Did you follow the instructions for putting in the username and password as the first line of the email?
