Linking to Uploaded Files

Hello,

I uploaded an image via the weblog entry form and inserted the code into the body of my post.  I then gleaned the uploaded file’s path from the pasted code and put it into a link.  My hope was to link to the image in my blog post so that readers could download the file.  Instead, the link takes them to my blog’s main page.  The link looks like this:

%%fall_1024.jpg"]standard aspect ratio

I am using pMachine Pro 2.4

Any help is appreciated.

Thank You,
-Eric

Open the File Upload window and then click the “Preferences” link.  You need to ensure that the path and URL settings are correct for the specified upload directory.

If that’s set correctly, then a link like you have above inside a weblog entry field should get replaces with the appropriate path.

Chris,

Thanks for replying.  I checked the paths and they are correct.  I didn’t have a trailing forward-slash at the end of my absolute path so I added one.  That didn’t seem to help.  Do you have any other ideas?

Well, I’m a bit unclear about exactly what it is you’re doing as well as what output/behavior you’re seeing with it.  Perhaps providing a link to it would help.

Chris,

If you go to this page you will see two links in the first post.  One is called “standard aspect ratio” the other is called “wide screen”.  These links are supposed to link to an image that I have uploaded via pMachine’s upload feature.  Instead, clicking on them just takes you to the page you are already on.  I hope that helps.

Chris,

Problem solved!  I took a look at the page source and discovered an extra set of quotes around the links to the images.  I edited the links shown in the first post in this thread by removing the quotes.  Now the links work fine.  Thanks for your time!

atiosis, this solution was for pMachine PRO, not EE. So likely it won’t help you much.
