Pm Upgrade

Attempting to upgrade pMachine 2.2 to 2.4, I am unable to locate the file “old_updates.zip” allegedly linked from this page— http://pmdocs.pmachine.com/update_previous.html (Step 11—“Download this zip file, which contains additional update scripts.”)

I wonder if anyone might tell me where to find this file.  It looks like this upgrade is stalled without it.

I would appreciate it.

When I attempt step 12 (“Run the update script”), I point my browser to the pm/updates/index.php file on my server.  That pages says this:

“pMachine Update Tracker

You are currently running pMachine version

Please click the link below to start the update process.

Just like that.  I hit the “Click here” link, and I get this:

“Not Found
The requested URL /pm/updates/.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.’

(Note that I use a different name for the pm directory, and my mouse-over of the link confirms that the link is aimed at the correct file.)

What could be going wrong here?  I’ve assumed that it has to do with the fact that I have not located the “old_updates.zip” file.  The updates directory on the server has seven files in it (one of which is the /updates/index.php file, from which nothing happens).

Pretty stumped, at this point.

What, oh what, could it be?  Did the datebase get eaten (naturally: I backed it up, prior) because of the old scripts that I just tried to run?  Does the “old_updates.zip” file exist anywhere?  Will I have to just put the old installation (which worked) back in and give up hope?  Is it never going to fly and am us all doomed?

I’m begging, over here.

Sorry for the delay in responding, Billy.  I’ve been out of town for the last week or so.  It appears that when we migrated our site to run on EE a while back that the zip file didn’t get moved correctly.

I’ve gone ahead and uploaded a new version of that file and you can access it here.  Sorry for the trouble that caused.

Bless your heart, Chris.  Thank you for the reply, sir.

I gave it up for the week and got the old installation back up.  I’ll go get the new .zip and give it another go.  No news is good news.

Onward, then.
