Is there a free pmachine?  I was looking for the download… I did not see any “free” product.

Yes, it is free. You can download it from here.  You can find the link yourself by going to pmachine.com, clicking “Products” and scrolling down to the pMachine Pro section, there’s a link there. =)

Just to be clear, “pMachine Free” is no longer offered.  Instead, “pMachine Pro” is now free.

There are no discussion forums for pmachine, not that I know of, at any rate. If you are referring to EE’s discussion module: That only works with EE and needs to be bought separately.

Actually, pmpro (which is now the free version) does have a forum- it’s what used to run the forums here until the EE forum module came out.  Really, it’s just weblogs formated in a certain way, but it’s a quite adequate forum and easy to install.  Like I say- it was the one used here up until a couple of months ago.

pmfree, which only allowed you one weblog, couldn’t be used as a forum.
