Let’s say I have one or more forums with say 1,000 entries.  I run either a simple or an advanced search, looking for the word “foobar”.  I’m returned say, 123 entries that have “foobar” in them.

Ecstatic, I click on the first entry.  It’s not exactly what I want, so I’m inclined to want to go to the next entry.  Due to the dynamic nature of the search page, I cannot go back, nor can I hit a “next” button.  I have to go all the way back to the Search screen, enter in “foobar”, and hit Search, again and again and again until I find the foobar I really wanted.  Not very efficient.

Please tell me there is a better way, and that somebody has figured it out already.

You could right-click on the results and open them in a new window?

Gee, that was easy…    Now I have to figure out how to train thousands of people to right-click, when appropriate.

I don’t have an answer for you using pMachine Pro, but check EE’s forum search. It might be a solution for you.

VI, thinking about it, there must be something in one of the files somewhere that lest you change the way the code works (ie. add a target=“_blank” option).

Perhaps one of the Admins could advise (seeing as I’ve hardly covered myself in glory of late! )

Edit Templates > search > Search Results.  You could add a target= attribute there if you wanted.
